Hayley 101

1. This blog is not anonymous - my name really is Hayley, and my family call me Hayley-Belle. 2. My name is real, but I use pseudonyms for my family, to protect the innocent. 3. I don’t have a single favourite animal; it's a three way tie between horses, dogs and guinea pigs. 4. My dad nearly disowned me after I brought a baby guinea pig home (I already had 3, and he had said 'no more'. 5. I was I'm a long-term relationship before, during and just after university. We broke up when I was 21. I have been single since. 6. I have tried Internet dating. Twice. Both times did not end well. 7. I am an over-indulgent auntie. 8. I play the flute and piano. 9. I also sing. 10. I think music is one of the best forms of therapy there is. 11. I have panic and anxiety disorder. 12. I believe CBT is the best counselling therapy there is. 13. I wish it was more readily available. 14. I'm allergic to hay, but keep guinea pigs, who require hay on a daily basis. Because I am that in love. 15. My favourite place in the whole world is my bed. 16. I have lived in the same house all my life. 17. I prefer suburbia to the city. 18. I don't particularly like wine. 19. I love cocktails, though. 20. I have a deep-rooted Christian faith. 21. I have four siblings. 22. But only one brother. 23. All five of us have degrees. 24. Although neither of my parents went to university. 25. I work for the NHS. 26. I secretly want to be a doctor. 27. I can't afford the training though. 28. My guilty pleasure is romance novels. 29. I read a lot of them. 30. I also love Young Adult fiction. 31. My favourite takeaway is Chinese. 32. I don't like homemade curry, but I will eat curry from a curry house. 33. Pizza is my favourite food. 34. I used to be really slim. 35. Now I struggle with my weight. 36. I hate clothes shopping. 37. But I love watching hair styling videos on YouTube. 38. I gave blood for the first time when I was 27. 39. I love names. 40. I want to write a novel. 41. I haven't plotted the middle yet, but I have a beginning and an end. 42. My degree is in history. 43. My favourite era is the Regency. 44. I love technology. 45. My first dog was called Lacey. 46. She was a golden retriever. 47. I love big dogs. 48. I wish I owned a horse. 49. I've failed my driving test five times. 50. The examiner told me I was a good driver and it was all due to nerves. After my fifth test. 51. I am taking a driving hiatus! 52. I cannot sit still. 53. So my childhood nickname was Fidget-Bridget. 54. For my 25th birthday my sisters gave me hair dye 'to cover the grey' 55. I've been going grey since I was 16 56. I wish my hair was curly. 67. I never knew my grandmother. 68. But I believe that she is my guardian angel. 69. Since rescuing Rose and Sweet William, all of my guinea pigs have had horticultural names. 70. I don't have a favourite colour. 71. I cannot eat Brussel sprouts. 72. I don't like mushrooms. The texture reminds me of slugs. 73. I saw John Cleese in a restaurant once. 74. Stephen Fry is one of my favourite people. Even though I have never met him. 75. I rarely watch television. 76. I used to read the dictionary for fun. 77. I weighed more than 9lb at birth. 78. I was the sixth Hayley to be born at the hospital on my birthday. 79. My mum wanted to call me Ruth, but was worried that the local populace would call me Roof. 80. My dad chose my name. He did not choose any of my siblings' names. 81. This is why my name is out of sync with my siblings. 82. A patient once told me my name was not very British. 83. I indignantly informed him that it is Anglo-Saxon. 84. I did not mention that it means'hay field'. 85. I am extremely messy. 86. This confuses people when they find out that I am a Virgo. 87. I was born in the Chinese year of the ox. 88. I had pneumonia when I was five. 89. I went to an all girls secondary school. 90. Most of my friends are significantly older than me. 91. I hate apostrophe misuse. 92. I love to crochet. 93. If I hadn't been an academically inclined individual, I would have been a hairdresser. 94. If I won the lottery, I'd start a guinea pig sanctuary. 95. I am happiest surrounded by my family. 96. I make a mean cheese scone. 97. I love cooking, but am rarely allowed in the kitchen as I am too messy. 98. I love dancing. 99. I love walking in the rain. 100. I made some of my best friends online. 101.
